Gather Your Friends and Family and Tackle the Climate Crisis!

Are you concerned with the threat of climate change to future generations, but struggling where to begin to take action? The Week is the program for you!

Last week I had the pleasure of speaking with Robb Ryerse, US Program Director for The Week. The Week is a unique program which invites users to gather with friends, family, coworkers, anyone, to take action on climate change. The program consists of three movies about climate change, which participants watch together during the course of a week. After each movie, participants are led in a guided discussion about the movie and steps they can take to combat climate change.

The Week’s approach is based on a theory that people are more likely to become engaged with an issue and take action if they do so in community with others. At a time when we are consistently reminded of division in our country, it’s nice to think about working together, right? The video series starts with a sobering overview of how we got to the current moment in our climate crisis, but the series ends on a hopeful note in the last film, with a variety of options viewers have to take action.

The Climate Crisis can seem insurmountable, but it isn’t! We need everyone to find a way to get involved and to work together! Listen to today’s episode to learn more about this program, available on YouTube, Spotify and others major platforms. Please also visit TheWeek.ooo to learn more about their program! I personally hope to convene some friends and family to participate in this program in the coming winter months when we will be spending more time indoors.

Lastly, don’t forget that climate is on the ballot this November! Know where you candidates stand on climate policy, and vote accordingly. Vote Save America’s ballot building tool can help you get informed on your candidates.
